When most people claim that language X is "not cool" it's a defense mechanism. They do not know or have no interest in learning X, so it becomes worthless and uncool to them. Spend more time focusing on theory and less on stack. As for sta

Sit down and talk to Jason. It might be awkward at first, but you will all feel much better after a conversation. Get him doing something else. If you guys can't work anything out, then kick him out of the group/project.

Coming from someone who spends a lot of time in Hotels... This hack works in _very_ few elevators.

You and the others should just get together and learn Python. No need to have a dependency on your HS class.

Make it clear to the user you do not support that case and then add it if there is enough interest? I am not really sure I follow, it sounds like you are having a UX/support breakdown rather than a hosting/code failure.

First, why did it break? Figure this out. Is it something you can prevent from happening again, or is this most likely to be a recurring thing? Whatever your app is there is probably a hosting platform out there for it. One that provides

I agree that clicks will move away from Google and onto Facebook amongst certain demographics. However, I hate the idea of comparing time spent on Google to time spent on Facebook. I would expect that Google wants you to spend as little t

I'll get behind this. I do not know a single one of my passwords, but I can access them from anywhere. Desktop, laptop, cellphone. Lastpass is easily one of the best pieces of software I have ever used.

Yup, I agree with you. This is a pretty big problem with a lot of other google services as well. The google maps api for example will not work behind https. Google has publicly said that this is because they want their maps free and open,

I see a lot wrong with this. At HN we are not initially tied to our username. I would keep making new accounts/submissions until I hit a gold mine, something that generated a ton of karma. This would make my initial HIndex very high, and

hes saying that most sites that use adsense do not require a login, thus do not need https. he is somewhat correct, but not enough for google to just ignore this issue.

I develop in a virtual machine that mimics my production server(s). This reduces the amount of deployment surprises when pushing to staging. I use 1 dev vm per project. For version control I use git. For git hosting i use github. Absolut

Something I am good with now, but want to explore way more and really get better. This is most likely JavaScript. I am really hoping/expecting non blocking/async coding to go way up in popularity over the next few years. I know every mode

While this idea will make for a good story, don't do it. Your job is to take calculated risks with money, not light it on fire.

One way I like to drive traffic to surveys is with advertising, specifically adwords. It not only allows me to get visitors to my surveys, but it allows me to see how many people are actually searching for my product/keywords. Adwords/Sear

I like your features page a lot. It's very simple, clean, and gets right to the point. The biggest concern I have. There seem to be a billion time tracking tools out there. Everything from command line to web app. What sets yours apart?
