The lack of a license doesn’t necessarily prevent people from driving. Making it harder, or more severe punishments for poor driving, would not only result in fewer drivers on the road but also more “undocumented” drivers.

This is a masterclass in horrible logic. Every sentence either starts with an incorrect premise (e.g. that roads are only for vehicles) or makes extraordinary leaps in order to conjure a conclusion. Well done?

My MIL still uses a flashlight app on her iPhone, because she doesn’t know the difference between a feature and an app, and because each time she gets a new phone all her apps are ported over. Whenever she turns on her flashlight a huge ad

While trying to understand what Jamstack actually is (or adds to simply using a SSG) I lost some faith due their site not functioning well in mobile safari. The filter buttons on the SSG page do not respond at all, and when you click a TOC

Plus, “initiate deletion of their account from within the app” sounds like the app can simply link to whatever account deletion functionality you have on your website.

The rabm subreddit is helpful for identifying non-fascist bands. Have you heard the surf rock versions of Freezing Moon and Transylvanian Hunger? They’re great!

Lofi beats are nice and all, but honestly I’m able to focus best with black metal. It’s oddly relaxing. Just a solid wall of noise, with no chance of understanding the words. It’s what I listened to all through grad school, and back when I

Thanks - yeah I looked it up last night and realized I should probably replace the battery. I'll do that once I get the correct size Torq! I think the keyboard emulation was related to a specific kernel version (I haven't tried in

Thanks. I’ll try that brand. I buy mine from Encompass, the official seller of Lenovo batteries. So they shouldn’t be knockoffs, nor unsealed. But, one battery went from 90% health down to 30% in the course of six months. And they’re not ch

I have an Alphasmart Neo, though I do not regularly use it. And I don't use it much because I find the small screen limiting. I am so used to looking back at what I wrote a paragraph above, or pages and pages above, and doing that is a

I currently use a T440S, with Arch Linux, and fairly recently replaced batteries. I feel like I only get 5 hours or so. Although if I’m on my work computer, with my T440s open next to me and I’m lightly using it throughout the day then it e

Sorta related to round black bombs: I recently watched The Spy Who Loved Me, and realized that this is where I got the idea that grenades aren’t thrown like baseballs; instead, you gotta do a kinda straight-armed huck over your shoulder. No

No, GIMP is for designers, too. I use Photoshop at work and GIMP at home. Both for very light work. Adding text to an image, putting a product into a mockup template, resizing, etc. Both programs are very similar - I don’t really notice muc
