Well you have to make your decisions based on something right? I'm not sure what you're advocating here, unless it's that we shouldn't think about life decisions too hard. The fact that math is involved doesn't au

"Do humans cause climate change?" is a question of fact. "What type of gun control should we have?" is not a question of fact, so you shouldn't expect that simply stating some facts relevant to the issue would autom

Sounds like it might be easier to just write a program which inserts line breaks after periods (and one to remove them), so you can edit the books in their typical format and export to "git format" to deal with versioning/bra

The median personal and household incomes in 2016 were $31k and $59k, so at $38k you're starting your career well ahead of the median for US citizens of all ages. I happen to think teachers should be paid much more because of the impor

I think the fear of not being able to find a job is a large part of the reason people don't just move somewhere cheaper when they can't afford housing. There are of course other reasons, e.g. community, for staying in expensive ar

The App Store makes up about 5% of Apple's total revenue. The vast majority of their revenue comes from selling products to consumers. Their business model is not comparable to Google's, because Google gets most of its revenue fro

If speed is a concern and you're working in R, you should use data.table instead of dplyr. In Hadley Wickham's words: "We optimise dplyr for expressiveness on medium data; feel free to use data.table for raw speed on bigger d
