yeah, I've talked a lot with james about volo. I really like it. If people authored es6, shipped UMD, volo would also just work. The point is to let people continue to use the tools of today with the module format of tomorrow :)

Completely agree on all points. Also, community. My wife was sick in bed for 3 months, our neighbors came and watched our kids every morning from 8:00am-12:00pm so I could work and continue to support my family. You only get that from a n

Ember is supposed to be an opinionated, high level framework built on low level apis. Not sure what the point was in this article.

Agreed. Any episodes with ember data before its a release candidate will let people know its pretty much unstable and alpha (but with tons of promise).

ember.js source has a LinkView that can tell if the current link is to the current route. You could create a SelectView and maybe borrow some of that to do the same.

The appeal is the same as angular and other frameworks with bound data. I choose ember because of its focus on urls. Watch the last video, and if that doesn't look interesting to you then ember is not for you :) http://ember101.com/videos/

I can't say for sure. If I don't do one per month I'll be really sad. One per week would be amazing. Averaging that, I guess I plan on two per month.

There has been talk of making t-shirts that read "I survived Ember v0.9.8" The apis used in these videos are frozen for ember 1.x, fortunately. (I know your a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I appreciate a project that will replace difficult apis

Please don't turn this into an angular v. ember thread. They are both excellent frameworks.

Solid point I considered carefully. I decided to bet on people watching the second video and keeping the first as bare-bones simple as possible.

And here is the 14 line jQuery version. https://www.firebase.com/tutorial/#session/pxkpekf5ze3 Would love to see your angular demo implement authentication. Also, your angular demo uses angularfire.js.

This post is titled wrong: > I'm not yet ready to leave my server-side framework behind That is the right title, pulled from the concluding paragraph. This sentiment happens to apply to angular, backbone, knockout and everybody else.
