Well the question is which you use, not which is "right". I guess an option for "I use both" would be appropriate.

I found this to be a really worthwhile read. This is about the stage we are at right now and I've really been thinking about many of the points that were brought up here which clarified my thoughts. It's long, but definitely worth it.

I like the idea - not so sure about the execution. We are a global community of hand-selected entrepreneurs, scientists and engineers. The network acts as a breeding ground for creating disruptive ventures by connecting selected cofounders

Perhaps some of the disconnect is that it's not easily explainable to non techie types without going in to more detail. The Gmail/Office example you gave holds true for any web app, regardless of it is hosted on Force.com, a $9/mo hosting p

I think it feels "buzzwordy" because too many people abuse it. It is a legitimate term but it is being stretched to the point where it is no longer useful. To me a cloud is a system where I can dynamically change my resource usage without h

People seem to make this movie out to be far more confusing than it actually was. I found it pretty straightforward, so although there is a lot to keep track of, it's not really difficult to follow. Now something like Primer, on the other h

To me this is a very old school, closed off way of looking at things. Who are the comments for? Just the author? If so, why make them public at all? If they are for the readers, how many readers are going to come back 24 hours later to chec

I think some of this just really magnifies how powerful game mechanics and the need to "win" can be for some people. I think any type of game built into a system really needs to be designed carefully and with an eye to the consequences as w

What if your product is just not critical? Is that a terrible thing? I can't imagine every application is absolutely critical to an operation. I would argue that most B2Cs and a good percentage of B2Bs are not critical software, but many

I think this is more interesting as a one time thing. Sort of like a slightly more modern singing telegram. I just can't imagine enjoying getting that call every day. "You're good enough, you're smart enough, and, gosh darn it, people lik

I tried to take the survey but I guess you really only want responses from people who has used these sorts of apps before (which is fine). I answered 'No' to the first two, which means there is really no answer fro the next 3, which were al

I don't think the point was that you HAVE to choose between coding skills and social skills. The point was when the two come into conflict you should choose coding skills. They are making the point that coding skills are more important and

You should probably mark this article with a tag - [2007] as it is currently about 3 1/2 years old.

The tagline makes the name make sense. When thinking about the name it seemed like it should be relevant but I just couldn't put my finger on what it was trying to conjure up.

Your 98 Boxster is 12 years old. They cost about $60k brand new. Holding 15% of it's value over that time isn't too bad, considering you're down to about 55-60% original value in the first year alone. You're probably at 30-35% after 3 years
