Equinix used to offer this map as a cool poster to customers (and maybe everyone?). I'd love a not-beat-up replacement, but I don't see an order link like there used to be. I did find the 2019 one for $250(!!), which is a little

Encode your message as a hostname, like “the-answer-is-42.yourdomain.com” Buy or request a SSL certificate for that CN. it’ll be from a notarized source, with a date on it, proving you knew that info at least as early as that, and recorded

I'd bet that there's usually at least a reporting of "the latest sports scores", etc, to keep people somewhat entertained with the world above. I'd think that the staff would question "all sports are cancelled,

Fun trivia: have you ever used the trick “dig @192.168.1.1 version.bind txt chaos” to ask a DNS server what its version is? You’re asking it’s chaosnet records (this interesting, but obsolete network type).

I'd love to see a correlation graph showing the time this was posted to HN, and the server load on the Slack-emoji image-importing service. Pretty sure these are going to become hotkeys in a lot of workplaces.

is this down at the moment? (Sat Jan 27 23:18:48 UTC 2018) the ux seems to be hanging, trying to contact https://ssh.cloud.google.com ... "slashdotted?", or whatever the hackernews term for that is?

This'll be interesting. What defines "political topics"? Is climate change news political? Edward Snowden news? Wikileaks? A new build of the Signal app? Hyperloop news?

Some of the funniest (Brasilian) Portuguese misunderstandings I've encountered were due to differences in how some letters are pronounced. A leading hard "R" is often pronounced like an American "H". An "OU&quo
