Why on earth is the picture of a busy truck stop type place? Most suburban neighborhoods have low traffic and plenty of places to ride your bike. Often have pools and basketball courts or fields to play in.

It is almost exclusively a middle class activity. Also not that expensive if one parent is home. I knew many homeschooled kids who were just given a math textbook and worked through it. You only go to math class in public school for about 1

In the US there are tens of thousands of violent criminals in prison. The police were integral to many of those investigations or arrests.
