Maybe ticketing systems have gotten better, but I've never used one where I didn't feel like I was "spending time" dealing with the ticket system. As of right now, I end up with discussions spread across email, SMS, pho

Yes, there are many ways email could be used to assign tasks. The way I said, the way you said, by dragging it into a folder. It doesn't really matter how it works in detail as long as the general concept is there; people want to ass

Yep. On one hand, dev containers could be really awesome. Imagine being able to spin up an old dev container to fix a bug in an old project. Ex: I added a tiny feature to a 5+ year old Java app last year and it took me longer to get the

I didn't know that existed. I skimmed it and it looks like it would be good, but Traefik is working well enough for me that I don't have a reason to change it. To be really honest, I'd have to get some kind of noticeable im

The way AWS does it seems like it would work if they removed hosted zones for domains where all 4 NS don’t match what you’re assigned. That seems to be what Cloudflare does (I’m not positive though), but with 2 NS per account.

I think so. Last time I used it I remember thinking it seemed a bit lax.

Really? Do you mean you’ll eventually get 4 matching NS or just overlap 1? How about Cloudflare? I always assumed no one gets the same combo of NS and they actively monitor / remove domains that don’t point to the expected NS.

No. It's fairly clear. I just didn't read past the "2 active domains" part of the pricing. I'll edit my post and I will actually give it another try.

I would say it's also important to receive mail on RFC2142 [1] addresses as well. I usually set up abuse@, hostmaster@, postmaster@, and webmaster@ for idle domains. 1. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2142

It would be easier to add something like a `forbid` policy to DMARC IMO, since you'd want to set up DMARC to monitor spoof attempts anyway. A simple `p=forbid,sp=forbid` (not real options) in DMARC would be ideal. forbid - all mail is

Hey. Thanks for replying. FYI, I just noticed the store link on your site is broken. Having a non-opinionated system using a simple http call makes sense to me. I would say the main drawback is that a lot of automated certificate managem

I've looked at setting that up for my home lab a few times and when reading the docs I always get hung up on one thing. How do I retrieve certificates on my servers? Do I have to use the Certera API for that? What I'd like to ha

IMHO there's an opportunity for a lot of disruption in the CA industry. Managing a lot of certificates gets out of control pretty quickly and if they build a system with decent hierarchical authentication you can start to see a situat

There's also a lot of opportunity for CAs to get better IMO, so competition is useful. I'd hate to see a commercial company displace LE, but there are so many value adds that can be sold once you're the CA of choice that it

GitLab CI exposes the pipeline ID and it would work for that.

If you mount docker.sock you're building on the runner's daemon so you have to worry about builds interfering with each other. If you use docker-in-docker you get a clean environment every time.

The other option that works really well in a single user environment is to bind to the runner's Docker daemon. That way builds run as siblings of the runner's daemon rather than as children via docker-in-docker. The huge issue wi

I tried kaniko and didn't like it. Having build and push as part of the same job is frustrating and I view it as a sign that a CI system is built with the expectation of having everything happen post commit by shoveling money into a CI

That kind of sucks because if a user misses the initial OS redirect for a captive portal login, the easiest way to get them back to the authentication page is to have them hit an http site. However, things like HSTS make that really hard t

Like the sibling post said, you're probably seeing certificate errors caused by the portal, not traffic being allowed to captive.apple.com. With http, a captive portal system will intercept your connection and redirect you to the porta

Many users don't know the difference between http and https, so if you're trying to get them redirected to a captive portal page it's a lot easier if the default is http.

AFAIK, the FQDN is used for connecting to the registry, but it's not passed to the registry. So when you pull `ecr.example.com/namespace/project` the daemon connects to `ecr.example.com`, but the registry only sees `namespac

Oh yeah. My bad. I got my degree in math from Verizon. Getting paid $1000 per 100k views sounds ok. On the paying side I'd hate to end up on the hook for a video that goes viral and gets a million views. Keep in mind that Cloudflare
