That's a pretty succinct summary of the gzip thing. There is still worth mentioning the issue of executing code once it's decompressed - so properly scoping a var is always better value for money than global.ancestor.foo.bar etc.

But what viewpoint is the Mail representing? The Daily Mail seems almost entirely Daily Mail centric, reflecting nothing more than it's own bubble of reactionary bile and oxymoronic smug self-loathing.

Reducing the overall size of CSS by cutting repetition isn't even that relevant given how well gzip handles that repetition. Unless your CSS is freakishly huge, selector count is not even likely to have much perceptible impact. I'

Vue is really interesting, but feels like it's retreading some of the missteps of frameworks past. I worked with knockout extensively on an inherited codebase a few years ago and my overriding opinion was that 2 way binding sacrifices

Should the internet be archived? Seriously. It's a transient medium, somewhere between a beautifully illustrated book and a shopping list scrawled on the back of a napkin in crayon, recited down a megaphone by a drunk. Let content live

I'm not convinced that is the solution to the problem in this case - If the OP is concerned about the quality of their code and has taken a string interview rejections to heart, having pull requests closed with minimal explanation woul

Somebody also has to be the first strong female employee in any given company. Obviously headcount is a huge factor here, but in isolation I honestly think that kind of reasoning can be misleading. If you are interviewing and discount an ot

Whilst is awesome to be able to use flexbox quite freely IE11 and Safari still have a handful of slightly arcane issues, such as certain configurations of flex-wrap:wrap content requiring max-width:100% or flex-basis:auto to trigger the wra

It's a catch 22 really - If adverts are modified or removed, the dom will reflect that. If you completely spoof that you effectively break the dom for everything else. If you only spoof the advert's own properties, you can infer s

Not really - detecting ad blockers is pretty straightforward, try to insert a DOM node that triggers their ad pattern matching then check if it's been blocked. Not to mention spoofing your user agent is very easy! It's built into

It'd be obvious on the ads side though - If this was activated across multiple apps simultaneously, their clickthrough rate would have gone through the roof. Heck, even if it was dripped out slowly, average % clickthrough - even on mob
