Add Radian 6 to the "Doing it wrong" list. You have to talk to a sales person. Then watch a webinar. Then take TRAINING?!?!! Just to maybe get a demo.

So if one wanted to try getting into this cycle, do you set an alarm after 4 hours or if you wake up at all naturally in the night, stay up?

I don't think anyone sees 3-5 year plans as promises, more as the fact that you've thought about what your company will be doing in 3-5 years. Yes technology is impossible to predict but they want to see that you've given it more thought th

I think the main problem with this type of technology is it's very easy to imagine the RIAA/AT&T/US Gov/whoever suing or pressuring Google to remove (Insert Non Malware App Name Here) for whatever reason.

It's written extremely poorly in my opinion (reads like a self help book), but the positive take-aways I got from it when I read it years ago... 1) Understand the difference between assets and liabilities (according to the author most peopl

It's definitely possible to only clock in 8 hours at the office and be successful, but I know mentally the startup is with you 24/7 and that alone can be quite draining.

Hack a Square to just take the credit card info for use outside of Square? Half of the battle with scams is building trust, so if people are told to be on the lookout for guys with Obama pins and a credit card reader...

I don't believe Google is intentionally being evil, but they are definitely behaving a lot like the company they coined the phrase because of. In the 90s Microsoft was using it's huge installed user base advantage to push it's less popular

Not getting covered by tech blogs that you dropped an unsolicited email to should not be considered a failed product launch. Well maybe it is in the sense if you are counting on front page of TechCrunch as your entire marketing effort. Th

That's why I was really disappointed in Tiny Tower, really was hoping it was a new implementation of Sim Tower instead of a Farmville set in skyscrapers.

I've felt this same way for a while, I've been running a used car site since 1995 ( http://www.ausedcar.com ). The sad thing is I've experimented with all sorts of other ways to search for cars over the years like what you are recommending

Thanks for the reply Jason, a new and interesting twist from 37signals as usual :). This seems awkward from a branding point of view, like new users can sign up for Basecamp or New Basecamp? Or old users can use old Basecamp but new users

Rewriting software to start fresh always SOUNDS like a great plan, especially to engineers, but this usually ends up bad for the end user and takes 5 times as long as planned (Netscape anyone?). Basecamp could definitely use a refresh, but
