The biggest difference was pulling a random record. This is an odd use case for most people, and not even a common one for me, but say I wanted to show you a random car near your location. The more common use-cases that were sped up were

No, and I actually used to work for a company that made a similar type of search engine! That probably would have worked as well (don't think I considered that specific solution). Mongo came up on top because of it's wide use (among other

I run two sites, one is the perfect use-case for MongoDB - http://www.AUsedCar.com , it's a used car search engine. We've seen nothing but benefits by switching to it from MS SQL Server. Queries are way faster etc... It's a great use ca

I think a better comparison would be... a community art gallery opens, they invite all local artists to show their work for free. It becomes more popular then the Louvre and the owner gets fabulously rich, and sells the gallery to MOMA. On

All the gun control in the world doesn't prevent you from getting someone else to buy you a gun (or getting one on the second hand market). I'm certain if we banned guns completely there would be a drop in gun violence, but tragedies like

I'm in Pittsburgh and also have never had a problem with Apple Maps. It fails at a "fuzzy search" like "shadyside" (a neighborhood in Pittsburgh), but if you give it a specific address or type the correct name of a place it works fine. Fu

I love that $10 for monthly access to basically every album ever on demand is "a bit high". I remember dropping $16 a pop on CDs/Tapes at Tower Records back in the day, probably bought at least two a month... In terms of your issue with iT

I agree, the terms are insane, and I hope they don't keep extending them. I'm pretty sure every single person who worked on the original Disney movie Snow White is dead now, lets get that into public domain, the point of copyright isn't to
