Sure. I've purchased web apps and websites (and have colleagues who have done the same) for $1k-$2k that today make right around that each month. But those are the best results; that's not the most common outcome of purchasing in this range

Because an email list is far more valuable than Twitter. If you have 10k followers vs. 10k email subscribers, your response rate is like night and day. Hands down, email wins. Now there's another side to Twitter, which involves the virality
