Try sending this URL to your uncle. Hacker news is not the entire world.

Yeah, I was so turned off by this that I did not go much further beyond the first paragraph. I mean, is this a rant or a genuine effort to write a story? Why should I bother to read an article that makes such strong accusations without prov

I have to ask, have you ever been a manager at any level at any company? Are you just imagining all these things?

"Just like... Crypto and NFT..." Seriously? These are comparable things? A lot of people point out problems with crypto in their early days. Most people say NFTs are a scam since day 1. And they have those problems and are a scam.

Of course there's no data. How many companies, especially the big ones, have you heard doing surveys for employees and asking whether they prefer in-office or remote work? They don't, because they are afraid to hear the responses.

What? What is weird about that comment? An LED light from a random brand purchased from a random grocery store is very likely to work just fine, and that is many people's experience, so if your experience is different, you should provi

Exactly, that is the real issue, vectorization might be good enough in terms of performance. It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the article at all.

"disable all of them" Yes you are correct, but Microsoft is hiding these options in at least 5 different places, and you need to follow a tutorial to disable them all. Not to mention new updates add new ads, like this one or a rec

Yeah, so many people are wasting their time on those useless arguments. What matters here is not how to solve the problem -- customers should not worry about that at all -- but whether Amazon is commited to address this problem, and the ans

I'm afraid the comment doesn't contribute to the conversation. This is a lifestyle that can hardly apply to anyone else, especially those in a relationship or having a family, so might as well just keep it to yourself.

I think Stallman's opinions should be regarded no differently from what a random person on the street would say. His contributions in software does not mean his words on arbitrary subjects are more valuable than others. In fact I avoid

Eh, why should anyone ever care about another person's OS choice? Can't people mind their own business? Why is this even on hacker news?

Your comment is an example where people have no idea what they are talking about but just making things up. "In a few hours instead of weeks" I'd argue that the web stack only takes less time, not more. JavaScript is popular

You probably should have a better understanding of how hooks work and why they are better before posting a long and meaningless rant like this. There are things that you complain when you are junior, but start to understand better and reali

Ignore those comments. There is a very large group of people on hacker news who do not understand and will never understand how real world products work. In their mind, native is better than a web app and that's the only way things sho

In our codebase this will never be allowed: type ColorHexValue = `#${string}` type ColorRGBValue = `rgb(${number},${number},${number})` At least one developer will ask to find an alternative -- use actual CSS names or use a function to crea

One way or another, the bad guys are getting their money. Talk to anyone and they'll tell you this is hacking. Many incidents that are more technical and involves exploiting vulnerability also begin with social engineering.
