Today's "senior" (and some staff) engineers have been downgraded into junior level and are suffering from comprehension debt as they openly admit that they do not look at the code, nor can they even explain it. Title inflatio

You might need to talk to the power users both here and beyond HN. Developers who use Docker on Mac, Android Studio, homebrew usage and usage on embedded devices all had persistent issues and had to wait months for the ecosystem to improve

Abundance for who and what of? Mostly likely an abundance of security breaches, exploits and other terrible things. Does that 'abundance' benefit humanity? We will get the negatives first before the positives unfortunately.

Why now? China will request a deal on their terms instead of agreeing to any deal that the US will put forward in order for them to agree on this 'proposal'. So it doesn't matter what Sam, Dario and Elon say. Slowing down i

Unfortunately there's not much you can do here and it is not going to happen despite HN being in fact far worse today than it was a decade ago. The site is unfortunately filled with rampant upvote rings, AI agents / bots commentin

I agree. It is mostly a solution looking for a problem and has close to the same functional downsides as Flash or Applets other than "transparency". Its 'sandbox' is also escapeable at both the engine level in V8, Gecko

Websites like this just do the opposite of what they are trying to achieve. (Giving more attention to the target.) It means that the alternative distros are not quite effective in their own marketing and Omarchy was able to market and attra
