Probably because no desktop OS I know of randomizes MAC addresses by default. How many people are gonna enable that manually? At least android (and I think iOS) default to random addresses

I haven't tried it, but I understand the Strava integration as optional. You can source your data from Strava and then use it on its own. Might've misunderstood the readme though

Lightweight often just translates to less features. Unless you're rewriting a truly bad piece of software, you're "lightweight" alternative will be just as heavyweight when you're done reimplementing everything

If it's important but you got time, you could always save the packets and crack them when quantum computing comes out for consumers. You have to wait a couple of decades probably, but maybe it's worth it
