Aha, I mentioned this yesterday in the 'oldies' thread. Be interesting to see if others have anything to say on it, or if the idea of a VAX Cluster has passed most people by.

I also have VAX experience, but definitely not in recent decades, and I am neither extinct nor retired. Still look back at how some aspects of VAX/VMS were so much better than what followed. Aware that Windows NT was written by Dave Cu

I thought that the Java Robocode stuff was interesting and could help inject some fun or 'gamification' into development. Would that not be a useful challenge for CS students? https://robocode.sourceforge.io/

Yes, they do have issues with this. Whether UK or any other nationality. Funnily, I have a colleague who overstayed his entry visa by exiting a day late and frequently gets stopped and questioned when he goes back, which he does often as he

Pah, I've not seen Agile cause burnout at all. Far from it, the way sprints become long slow walks and stories move from one sprint to the next, at the altar of 'Agile' and not 'Delivery', developers appear to be un

Try reading this later post where he refers back to it, including the use of the terms 'geek' and 'fallacy' in the title. http://www.plausiblydeniable.com/opinion/fifteen.html

Copyright is far from a dinosaur. It may be disliked by freeloaders but that doesn't make it wrong. I know of numerous photographers who find their work ripped-off; without copyright protection they would have no comeback on that.

Agree entirely. Take a clear statement. Say it isn't clear what someone may want from that statement, claiming it is confusing when it really is not. Do what is clearly the opposite intention, blaming deliberate stated confusion. Grrr.

Well given the amount of Internet traffic out there, I'd say that one percent (albeit 'less than' that) could be rather a lot of traffic that would be blocked if TLS 1.0 or 1.1 were totally dropped or blocked.

Madness! I guess with images of this sort, it might judge that the person could be dangerous, but just on the looks of your face alone, that is just stereotyping done as a [very suspect] business. https://www.google.com/sear

I don't believe that these 'free' credit score services are free, you just don't pay them a monthly fee. Instead, they make money from having your financial details, presumably to sell you other services. Same as farcebo
