I don’t understand this article and thread either. Using OpenID is not rocket science. You can start to use it in matter of minutes. The question should be rather why you should care at all to use anything else at this point.

I haven't stopped using it immediately, but it definitely added to the growing list of problems. I don't use that site anymore, except when a search result directs me there. Even then it's a second choice of mine, because I n

I had no Windows edition since 98, which I didn't need to alter right after a fresh installation because of Microsoft bullshits. At least, it doesn't take a full day anymore to install and configure a fresh Windows.

No. It’s hated by the majority because it shows a problem which should be handled, but most developers don’t want to care about exception handling, and because of this they make terrible code. They would make bad code even without checked e

Using public transport (aka walking) means to me to burn 500-1000 additional calories per day compared to using cars the whole day. That’s not insignificant at all. Of course, you need to live somewhere where this is a possibility.

The problem with arguing about battery life this way is that it's highly dependent on usage patterns. For example I would be surprised if there is any laptop, which is sufficiently fast for my usage, and it's battery life is more

It’s easier to defend than you think. It’s enough to show that there was no proof of that they didn’t work at the time of introduction, and there was indication that it maybe worked. I definitely don’t have the knowledge to prove or disprov

I never understood this sentiment. It seems to me that the communication is broken, when a developer has problems with delays. It’s not their decision, and it’s not their risk. If developers report uncertainties properly, even during develo

It’s still possible to do something like TypeScript, where everything is like generics in Java. But Java try to be consistent, while TypeScript purposefully not. There are a ton of features in TypeScript which are awesome, but it breaks in

Also no new languages should default to mutable variables, fields, and types, when the language supposed to be in the same field as Java, eg. large enterprise services. And for both problems, they should be consistent, because now they are

You should read Java EE standards, and Spring documentation, not Baeldung. There is design there. Finding the name of something is difficult in both, but of course React’s search space is way smaller due that Spring is larger by magnitudes,
