That is the problem imo. Most tech workers want a big check and no work. Gross. I like the work. But i do get wanting to get a nut with little effort.

It also signals low effort or subpar quality too. Hey look we slapped gpt on our healthcare app. Is it useful? Not really but the ceo is excited about it

Most self help books can be boiled down to very obvious tools and coping strategies. If it is the first time you have come across the concepts, it can be useful but if it isnt, it is useless. Is paying 15$ too much to pay? If learning about

I dont think so. I strongly prefer cursor over claude code and the composer model is basically unlimited and free also being super fast. Of all the ai companies out there, anthropic and cursor are the two id invest in.

I have been puked on when riding the bart and know several people who have seen a person die or get murdered. This dismissal of the very real problems of public transport is why public transport has the reputation it does.

Can confirm. My partner has had far too many bad encounters on bart. I had a female coworker say she saw a guy get murder with a hammer on bart. Obviously everyone’s experience is different but public transit had a bad rep for a reason and

Funny. Search is the only thing that is outstanding as it is the big revenue arm, that and youtube. The last time i tried using gmaps i got ads and the thing could figure out where i was on the roads. It was comical as i always remembered g

When the cost for this leverage is more than an employee the math stops mathing. Additionally, for tech work. There is a tension about doing work and not knowing that output is correct or not. I have seen ai spit out thousands of lines of o

Most games are strictly scaled on resolution due to how deferred pipelines run. This is exactly the slider to max or not max everything on a gpu for games. The more pixels the more memory and the more compute.

I see this too. There is this theme where people are more and more going only as far as the ai does. Asking suggesting or arguing to go deeper is impossible. There is a new path of least resistance and it saddens me.

The localization thread is underrated. I however loath ai code comments, wikis, or anything where information density is prime. I never can understand why people like it. Each there own i guess

If this is what i think it is, then yes. Life for humans has rarely been fair but that inflection point is startling. It tracks the wealth gap growing too irrc.

I don’t think so. Most things are sufficiently complicated enough to require multiple domain experts working together to achieve a goal. The dunning kruger effect is in full swing as people think AI replaces the domain expert need. Most of

Generally prices go up if the location doesnt tank. There are other benefits in itemization that for higher earners make it even more compelling. For sure though, there are real risks esp if you shop at the edge of your affordability
