Apple charger - about $26 for an original... About $3 for a knock-off (I just checked eBay). I have never had an unreliable bootleg charger yet. This is a little more than "double" (it's acutally 8x the price) and I can assure you, there's

It depends. Will accessory prices come down with the iPhone5? If so, it's an unfair comparison to compare current prices. Also, I can typically buy an iPhone data cable off eBay delivered for about $1 to $2 ... i've never had an issue with

IMHO, I didn't like (1) or (2) - but I was very fond of your third (NSFW) link. However, the demo that first blew me away on the Amiga was Blizzard Crystal Hammer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXBx6U_JWfQ That's when I first realised th

You're right. They tweaked the obvious, and patented it. It's almost as bad. Software patents like this should not be validated. To allow two fingers to zoom and one "tap" to set ... next, you'll be telling me that two fingers to zoom an

I love how you turn some people into "people" like it was all people. Remember the Palm os? No? Revionist history? Wasn't that before iPhone? What about Knight Ridder's iPad in the 90s? Doesn't ring a bell? Thought so. I also love how r

Let me gladly say "thank goodness for Apple - they force everyone to lift their game". Look at Apple's warranty - it's very good (eg. a "new for old" device swap for AU $180 when the device is out of warranty - even if you destroyed it you

Thankyou! This is about the consumers - we mustn't lose sight of that.

The important point is that Apple should be able to patent slide to unlock - it's preposterous. In fact, noone should be able to paint such trivialities.

The problem is that when Samsung customise Android, they do so to (a) differentiate, and (b) to ensure you can't upgrade. On a more "on topic" note, this juror is a turkey. As another poster pretty much said "prior art can not be ignored".

There's an old saying... Luck favours the prepared. If you are not prepared for an opportunity, then luck will almost certainly pass you by.

It's about as similar as a fish is to a bicycle . Apple are showing themselves as patent trolls - noone else is allowed to create a smart phone that has black glass and rounded corners, which is about as generic as you get. On the other han

I'm not so sure about that. Facebook is WAY overpriced. It will take years to recoup the costs and they have very few prospects of making money in the forseeable future. I support your theory that Facebook will make 100bn back, but by the

I highly respect the views of the parent poster (btilly). As a father of two, I fully can relate to your posting, including an almost identical conversation with my lovely wife.

I have the new iPad. Screen resolution absolutely rocks. However, about once a week, I lose WIFI and need to reboot to recover it. All devices have their gremlins... A week of operation is not too bad.

We know what the church has done to heretics in the past... Galileo was threatened with torture (torture was common practice at the time) if he continued to prove to the public that Earth was not the center of the universe. On a separate no
