> serverless is when you [...] don't keep a machine sitting around when there are no requests FTFY The key part of serverless is that you don't have a server idling around. Whether or not you use a hosted db is not relevant.

The proposed changes were "cuts". The reviewer said "remove these lines, we don't need them" not "can you clarify". So more like: Reviewer: I don't like this code - so we don't need it. Take it o

Agreed about the little things. The best thing I've done is put a floor lamp on a timer... which sounds really lame but was so nice since there wasn't a light switch or outlet switch in that room. I had it come on in the morning b

I have a 3-lack-stack for my printer, but no paver. It sways a bit when I print, but I haven't run into any major issues without it. I should get one. A foam mat was mandatory though; the hollow core lack turns the motor noise into a s

Funny, I always reason about the 3+ argument form... For example, what does ln -s foo bar baz do? Well it can't create a foo symlink that points to bar AND baz, but it could create multiple symlinks - bar and baz - that point to the fi

Neat! I just did a fast.com speed test with 3/4 bars of 4G and got 60 Mbps! I didn't do a speed test, but I spent the weekend in an area where I was getting 1 bar and probably 5 Mbps if that. 5G coverage even when poor, is optimal

I was confused about your comment at first - I was sure it was already a feature where you could use ```X to render the contents with a language. E.g. you could go ```java or ```javascript and get syntax highlighting for that language. What

I'd like to amend my statement: Technically YAML is (supposed to be) a superset of JSON - (almost) all valid JSON is valid YAML. So you could write all your configs in JSON and they'd (probably) work just fine (assuming you keep t

Thanks! That's really interesting. You could mitigate some of the issues and get JSONs "strictness as a feature" by passing the document through e.g. `jq . $file` as a CI step, but I don't think that'd resolve the 1

You can do both! I run HA for the web gui, but I have a few shell scripts for more automated things. Actually, now that I'm looking at them, they call to an HA api to make changes. So you could run HA to provide a web API for things an
