It may be because the transition wouldn't be as smooth as it is now?

As nkrisc already pointed out, just because you put something in a contract it doesn't mean it's enforceable, or lawful. See, if it's not lawful in the first place, you can't "breach" it. IANAL, but I had enoug

Ask the other way around: Why would this be lawful? If you sell something you give up any rights on the item sold. You can not any longer demand what the object should be used for, nor by whom it should be used.

I'm pretty sure this is not lawful so you can't be sued if you lied in the first place.

https://lucasbecker.de/ I write about all the stuff I encounter and where I would need more characters than would fit in a tweet. Main topics are technical stuff, obscure things, and witty comments on design. In a sense I&#

Well yeah, maybe in former times, when there was pay-per-view. Don't know anybody who is still doing this. Nowadays (already 10+ years) ads are only paid-by-click, because of "conversion".

If I am doing that most of the time the first few hundred results are pages which just list all numbers there are – like in a consecutive manner. Never understood why there are so many of this pages and why you would build one...

Nice! Didn't even know this exists. I'm a bit confused, tho: the only real content is: > This license gives everyone as much permission to work with this software as possible, while protecting contributors from liability. This

Since the shapes afaik can't be copyrighted: Your selfdrawn font has totally the right to look the same. They probably won't however, since you might be able to copy the shape, but for being displayed on screen you need a process

Guess why so many Helvetica impersonations/clones exist: The thing is called "tracing" and quite common. The actual code (which means the ttf/otf) is protected under copyright. The shape of a letter isn't and can&#x

This is one of the worst GitHub readmes I've ever encountered! What is this? A CLI tool? A website? A browser extension? Had to look in the comments to tell – what a desaster.

Same. The article seems so unfinished and empty without that. I know Beziers, NURBS, etc, but never had heard of Hobby. A visual would have been great.

This. Always communicate, but never spam. I don't need an email again, if nothing really happened and you just let my inbox explode with 100 crappy gifs. But four weeks without anything is also bad! I _want_ to see you making progress

Roam is totally cool, but at the moment not very polished. Even worse they're loosing a lot of data, which stopped me from using it – sadly. I still think it's superior to anything else, but loosing data is a show stopper.

Haha, no, it's not a joke as I can tell you as an architect. Sadly there are no english links, but have a look at Wikipedia [0] and you will see, that I've not dreamed that up :) Of course it has a referenece norm: the DIN 4172, w

My laptop broke at the hinge; now I have two parts. I wanted to convert the screen into a touchscreen for a while now. Not sure what I am going to do with that, tho. Maybe hook it to a Raspi?

Is this some weird kind of satire I don't understand? Being read-only is the thing why we have PDF in the first place. If you want to do changes, go back to the program where it came from. It's simple as that! :)
