RoR, because it’s what you know. If you know something else better, use that. If you’re calling out to AI tools, you’ll likely use worker processes and these can be in whatever language you want. Don’t fall into the trap of selecting the pe

Don’t ask them. The only one who can give you a sure answer is @dang . My guess is that HN users flag the hell out of DF submissions for whatever reason, and that causes the so-called graylisting. But again only @dang can give you a straigh

An addendum here that architectural firms and builders will still often spec out MMF for in-building fiber. You want to tell them "No, use SMF instead". They will look at you funny and maybe even tell you "that's more ex

From the last quote I got, I could buy almost 10 third-party Fs.com optics for the price of a Cisco OEM optic ($2,500 vs $250). And the FS.com seem to be manufactured more durably. And have a lower failure rate.

If you have the choice, always run single-mode. It’s infinitely more scalable than multimode and the price is on-par. Around here, SMF is currently cheaper. SMF optics are single digit dollars more expensive than MMF optics, if you use thir

Neat, you're probably right. I had just assumed it was named so because POTUS is # 47 and he frequently uses that number as a logo, but it's probably just an interesting coincidence.

Yes, I am. While I am fully aware the current set of AIs don't have feelings or a consciousness as we know it, I can't help but anthropomorphize them, so I'm polite and even catch myself thanking them sometimes.

The key ingredients here appear to be audacity and persistence, with competence taking somewhat of a backseat. This isn't intended to be overly critical. It aligns with the old adage, "If you want it, ask for it."

+1 for I Will Teach You To Be Rich. The title is a turn-off but the book is great. It has some life-changing financial literacy advice and is worth the price many times over, IMHO. And yeah, you can get an AI to dump the key points out of t

I was looking to see if they sold only the motherboard just last night and failed. Thanks!! $1,299 (64GB) and $1,599 USD (128GB) for the motherboards. Yikes, but I get why.
