I disagree completely. C was a well designed language that was later added onto haphazardly and you ended up with C++. The Scala language designers took a long time examining the shortcomings of java and other languages and ended up improv

You must have had the pleasure of not looking at a system using a ton of AOP, reflection, and injection. If anything can make looking at java using a good great debugger still a nightmare, it's AOP and other such magic...

Why don't you apply to work for a software company that intersects with the health industry. I really think they need all the help they can get from smart tech people. First one that came to mind: http://www.pictureofhealth.com/

If i'm not mistaken, the 'read barrier' is only active during a mark of the heap, not all the time. So, considering that marking can be parallelized and there's a good chance a lot of the heap is now dead objects (you only mark live ones)

Yes, and a job where you're hiring mass quantities of commodity labor, having a threshold is great. However, when recruiting for quite a specialized position, having a low and arbitrary 'threshold' seems counter productive.

Most Generational GC's (including Hotspots, which is the origin of Azul's JVM) will have the JIT insert a write barriers for all pointer sets. This is to keep track of cross generational references (so you don't have to scan the entire hea

Is 'enterprise grade' referring to a specific technical claim made by Voxeo or more of just a substitute for 'often used in the enterprise'?

Thanks for the clarification. You work with Tropo or Voxeo? I actually had a (brief) twitter conversation with the CEO of Voxeo asking about standardizations. I like CCXML OK but really, it doesn't serve the same need as Tropo/Twilio. I'

Yes. Looks like Tropo focuses more on language APIs, twilio seems to be pushing it's XML/JSON over HTTP, though it also has some langauage APIs that wrap the web stuff. Though keep in mind, Voxeo's been around for a while. It's probably m
