I'm one of those weird folk who run three monitors, and even though 12.04 promised better 2+ monitor support through Unity 2D, I still find it lacking. Perhaps it's the way I have it configured, but I use two nvidia cards with xinerama, whi

Quite the rant? Really? Could've sworn I said I'm not sure what technology pud used to create the site, but it'd be interesting to know , and not saying he used rails...just using it as an example . Regardless, thanks for the builtwith.co

I'm sorry, but $2,500 a month to run this site just seems high...I'm not sure what technology pud used to create the site, but it'd be interesting to know. I'd love to see my own sites get this much traffic, but damned if I could really aff

You know...I have always hoped that as the older lawmakers died off, drugs would be decriminalized. However, I've since accepted that the huge amount of propaganda being shoved down our throats on a daily basis and the willingness of much o

That said, Microsoft got one thing very right: active directory. If someone were to develop a similar solution which could manage both platforms, I'd buy it tomorrow.

I currently run a company (on the IT side) with 100+ servers...a healthy mix of both Windows and Linux. To write-up the benefits I see of Linux over Windows would take a fairly long blog post...perhaps I'll do that soon. However, I will say

I would consider paying for .net if it received first class treatment on Linux. As someone who has lived through the pain of hosting apps on Windows, I just refuse to do it in the future. I'd love to see Microsoft bring Mono into the fold a

Doesn't dart actually do type checking? It's been a month or 2 since I played with it, but I could swear that it did type checking and reported errors when the type was wrong.

My comment was in response to "avoid all the hoop jumping other distributions make you do in order to keep their package managers happy, while still giving you all the benefits". Personally, I believe those hoops to be a myth.

I've been using debian based systems (including ubuntu) for over a decade now, and I can't think of more than a handful of times time I've had to jump through hoops to keep apt and dpkg happy. You may not always have the latest version of

So would the appropriate approach in this case be to create IForum, ITopic and IPost interfaces and, instead of calling findAll() or count() directly on the class, call it on the interface so a class can be injected? Sorry...this is all a b

Can you elaborate more on the untestable code point, for those of us who've been spending more time on ruby lately? I find play very interesting, but it's great to hear about its warts as well.

How in the world does someone begin to write something like this? It's one thing to understand the language, but how does one gain insight into the underlying mechanics of a device like this, and given this insight, understand how to instru
