Can't you just store it in a regular 64-bit integer and know it's a datetime from your application's logic? What do you gain with a native, high-resolution datatime type?

Erlang with OTP also does pretty well on that test; I've deployed non-trivial programs that weighed in at a couple hundred lines of code. I agree though — Go looks awesome.

OTP isn't just powerful, it's essential. You need to think in terms of what OTP provides you to program in Erlang effectively.
