Exactly. They just shipped a UUID implementation to stable chrome before it was even finalized. They barely discussed and now it’s live. But hey they wrote a proposal so it’s all good.

This what and why?

Honestly I have no idea how HN is not overrun with spam and crap comments. It’s too easy to register anonymously similarly to Reddit. I suppose the “boring content” and lack of images keeps some people away.

Maybe they already do. The problem is by September they’ll be 2 versions behind, with no fix in sight.

Can we really? For torrent to work you still need someone to host it in full at all times. Who will host a 40GB file that will be out of date in a week? The website provider will, so we’re back to square one.

Yarn was great and all, but it’s not npm so you have to convince the whole team to use it. I can’t believe npm still sucks after 10 years. Week doesn’t go by I have to nuke node_modules and occasionally the lock as well. It’s junk as far as

The problem with Yarn 2 is that it wasn’t Yarn. You can’t change the whole thing and keep the same name. They thought people would just keep using Yarn out of inertia. That’s not how it works.

Iliad[1] in Italy has 120GB/10€: That is 0.08€/GB if you use them all. Ah, also unlimited calls and text. Just a regular prepaid SIM card, no strings attached. If you use it for just 1 month, no problem, just don't top it up.

Are you saying you have a $5/3mo SIM that allows roaming in Japan? Details please? That's cheaper than most plans in any country, let alone roaming.

I hate these articles. To steal the password you need malicious code running on the website. Autofill or not your data is taken. The only action that needs to be taken by the browser or password manager is to specifically avoid autofilling

Safari is great for some thing but its performance in others is lacking to say the least. Open a GitHub PR with 30 files to see what I’m talking about, the browser freezes for seconds (but you can scroll a partially-painted page so, yay?)

The good part is that those who didn't close shop found insane amounts of people googling them the day of the announcement. The many Reader replacements are still thriving thanks to the Reader popularity.

Disable it. If you don’t want to, limit it to weekly or monthly. I agree that Dependabot is super noisy especially by default.
