That's a smart ideia from OpenAI. They don't have the upper hand anymore in terms of model performance, but they keep improving their product so that it still is the best option for non-programmers.

It's not really clickbait per se, but to non-economists, saying "they made a model of the U.S. economy" may sound like they did a novel thing. Bear in mind that creating models of the economy is basically what macroeconomists

Same here, but Siri also does not trigger its textual improving LLM thingy in the context menu in Firefox.

Several elderly members of my family have unfortunately fallen for this. Voice replication is not a requirement.

Pattern Recognition is the most accessible book of his that I have read, and it has such a great story. Neuromancer is incredible, but it's often hard to understand his prose.

I agree. Sonnet 4 has been a breeze to work with. It makes mistakes, but few. At least for the CRUDs that I make, I really don't think I need a better model. I just wanted it to get much cheaper.

I agree with you, but just wanted to mention something interesting that happened: I went from Sublime Text to VS Code, but kept Sublime Text for general text file and large csv editing. Now, with Claude Code, I basically abandoned VS Code,

Roo Code, or Cline. You can allow it to run everything by itself and just watch. I've been preferring to use Copilot agent mode with Sonnet 4, but it asks you to intervene a lot.

In the future it'll probably be much more similar, when we have models with trillions of tokens of context window. We will be able to use the same conversation thread for years, and ending that thread may feel like killing someone.

Super Hexagon is my all-time favorite mobile game. I bought it in 2017 and I still play it to this day. I say it's the only game quick enough that you can have fun during an elevator ride.

I’m a Perplexity subscriber, but I’ve decided to favor Kagi. One issue I have with Perplexity is the lack of control over the search timeframes. With Kagi, I can use my own timeframe filters, such as last 2 days, last week, and last month.
