Who ever thought that grey text on white background is a good idea? I would have maybe read this ridiculous article, but I can't, as my eyes are bleeding.

Isn't that pretty normal? I walked to school alone my whole life. Walk to the bus stop, take the bus to school, walk to the school. Pretty usual.

That's a pretty bad metaphor. I am refusing OP's free beer, because I don't drink beer. I also question the need of giving away free alcohol. Instead, I take the free glass of water from the next guy.

I would bet that my newsreader uses booth less RAM and less disk space. This is what feeds were invented for. Why should I install that much bloat just for reading HN?

Yes, they are using it because they are familiar with the web platform and want to go a step further. But that doesn't mean that all other ways to build programs for desktop use suck and we can only use a webkit engine. With stuff like

Nice, another application that eats away tons of RAM because it comes with it's own WebKit engine.

It does seem to be though. Quite some time ago, there was about a week of articles every day in most German newspapers about refugees doing good things. Like finding money and giving it back and things like this. It was so obvious.

Am I the only one who thinks make is fine for 80% of the things that these new build systems popping out every day are trying to solve?

It happens to men too though. There are arrogant colleagues I have to stop when they explain things to me I already know. And I didn't even ask for it. I don't know if they just think that everyone besides them is an idiot or if t

We tried to use that to find your GitHub username, but we couldn't :( maybe you don't even have GitHub ssh keys, do you? You just need to properly configure your SSH.

I guess he is south German? That would also explain why he is calling Berlin "north Germany". While geographically, Berlin is more north than south, it has nothing to do with the cultural region we call north Germany. Btw, if anyo

The real neoliberalism came along a lot earlier. The 1970s were the time when the meaning of the word "neoliberalism" got warped.

The license is the biggest bullshit ever. This does not have anything to do with free software anymore. I would not use this piece of software.

This "+1" spam is one of the things that really dislike about the GitHub community. That and the reaction faces/gifs/image macros that constantly get posted on popular issues.

> Not having a CoC is like not having an employee handbook. I have never heard of that a so called "employee handbook" and the company I work for is still a pretty civil place. I wonder how we manage that?

I have a German system from a German IP and some of the words in the article are German. Weird. Do they have some kind of auto translation that kicks in even though they didn't translate the whole article?

Even for that I wouldn't use this. And I wouldn't even think of paying for that. EDIT: You can't even use this securely on the client side, so I would have to set up a back-end anyway.

I used to use Fedora, but the updating process never worked for me so I switched to Arch. I am really enjoying the rolling release model, though it is a bit less stable than Fedora.
