This is done, to mainly deter people planning to jump visas. People show fake experience to get a visa. We have a mini industry in India supporting such jumpers. Though the numbers have reduced.

Forcing a pipeline through a sovereign nation is not in good faith. Alan Kurdi died because Obama wanted to help Saudi Arabia. None of the people on the left or right felt outrage on September 2nd 2015.

Why? Everyone should not get a visa. Country should have a right to decide whom they let in. I never heard anyone complaining when the rich got visa more easily than poor.
