It is for now, but see http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5310911 for discussion from the weekend about Elon's post from a few years ago about his plans to enter the mainstream with Tesla.

Classic Hacker News any more - top comment is a cynic. Even if this isn't true, what would the point be for lying? And what really is the harm done?

You can replace the SSD on the rMBP. There aren't a lot of options, but it is possible. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/Aura_Pro_Retina_2012

But why? I know nothing about flatware. What about the history of how it evolved? Why do we have a spoon and a fork instead of a spork? You could learn a lot, perhaps of design, that could help you in a completely unrelated area. That plus

Maybe so that you can delete it locally and download it again through Steam (though I could be wrong). In the era of smaller SSDs, I find this very helpful.

I wonder what the implications would be should a citizen or group place tracking devices on police vehicles. Though I'm sure they'd have some law in their arsenal to call that a crime.

Disobeying vehicle registration laws does not equal being an asshole. I doubt anyone actually makes it through a day without breaking at least one law. Quit being an asshole yourself and at least provide a legitimate reason why he was an as

I hear all these things about the need to run in multiple regions, etc. Why do I have to worry about this? Why isn't there an easy off the self solution? Honestly, isn't there an easier way to have redundancy?
