For people worried about the keyboard typing, I've been very curious about the Titan Pocket as an alternative option. Square screen (fun!), "real" keybaord... the biggest problem seeming to be that the keyboard is intentional

I would like for more venv sharing, but rye is leaning heavily into correctness, which (in the current Python universe) is much easier to do by recreating the world.

I've also compiled python from source a good amount, and it usually works... until some thing where I realize some standard lib wasn't compiled because I was missing an optional dependency. But some lib assumes that it was always

Rye has been wonderful for me. Works so nicely and isn't adding too many opinions. Things like poetry tend to really be not amenable to certain workflows, which has likely made many people stick around to `pip -r requirements.txt`.

Correctness? I feel like in the world of Javascript and Ruby (and hell, even Julia with some of its really gnarly bugs!), Python is pretty serious about having code do what it's supposed to do. There are surprises downstream, but a hel

the example posted in that github issue is using filter in a way that is causing its own problems. If you generate stuff randomly, then filter out stuff matching some property, you're basically playing the lottery while generating!

I will say that it's _extremely easy_ to just list `Dockerfile` in your output dependencies if it matters enough for you to care. Stuff from apt/etc as well? put the install script in the dependencies. Really care about the versio

Patrick's point about off-record transactions feels important here. Each on-record transaction leads to an opportunity for off-record transactions to be discovered! On-record ones are likely clean in some sense, whereas 10 years of no

I thought there was some story about Wikileaks receiving a bunch of stuff regarding Russian gov't officials and there was internal debate in the org and it ended up not being published. Was that just a made up story?
