This was true for a couple of years, but lately, at least in my little part of the Fediverse, we have moved past the meta-talk.

Wow, this looks very neat and usefull! I have been using lazygit on the terminal for some years, but do occasionally miss a real GUI for git. Somewhat related: I have seen a lot of GNOME / GTK4 apps popping up lately, often distributed

My personal take is that I find the Framework laptops to be more in line with the cyberpunk vision, than this. Yes, this one looks kinda cool, but is it as moddable and modular as the framework?

Hugos documentation ia hard to penetrate when learning how it works. I probably had 6 or 7 fals starts before i 'got' it. Which is a shame, because Hugo is really not that hard and it is very nimble and powerful. There has been se

Hey, this looks great! The only thing I miss is an option to add multiple destinations or search for gas stations, shops etc on an ongoing route.

Sounds plausible. Would be interesting if we found a way to measure it on a large scale and track it over time. A National Beliefe Index of sorts.

I don't care particularly for either of them, but watching them fight could be entertaining! It would be the physical embodiment of what their respective social networks has become: fighting arenas.

I have been a paying customer for many years, but have told myself that I would eventually move to a self-hosted server. Maybe it's time. Luckily I have been using my own domain name!

That is already twice as much as the Fediverse has currently. It will be interesting to observe what happens when Threads flip the switch and becomes compatible with the ActivityPub protocol. As a long time inhabitant of the Fediverse, I do

So, are mods at subreddits considering a move to alternatives like Lemmy? Spreading the controll of subreddits over multiple domains and communities is probably the only insurance against ending up in a situation like we are witnessing with

I self-host GoToSocial, which is a Go implementation that is lightweight and minimalist. It might not meet all your demands, but it is good enough for me. I set it an forget it and it works. I guess it'll hit 1.0 this year.

Correction: It is illegal to make ads targeted towards children. You can't keep kids from seeing regular "grown up" ads on TV and in public places, but to tailor ads for kids are not OK.
