It isn’t, it’s a feature to keep the website relevant for a longer time. I’d be really happy to see this one break the mold, considering the rest of the development seems really reasonable and user-friendly.

Ah, think I misunderstood you originally. Anecdotally, it took me a couple tries and some thought, and I felt quite satisfied when I figured it out! I also find it takes me a few tries on puzzles like this to see if I really like them, so h

This is partially the point of the recent wave of daily games spurred by wordle. You can only play today’s puzzle, so you’ll have to return to the site every day to try new ones. In fact I don’t think I’ve seen any that allow you to play pa

I think the number of moves isn’t the key stat here, just the number of tries to complete in that many moves. I do wonder what the minimum required moves to complete a level is, but it seems it would be at least close to 11. How many moves

App looks amazing, I didn't know I wanted this but can see myself using it a ton now that I do. By the way, you may be aware but there's a typo in the iOS app in the "Your Words" tab when your list is empty. > You can

I do most of my browsing on my desktop. On mobile, it's usually really light stuff like searching up a restaurant or store, reading HN or some other silly little thing. Occasionally I see ads which are annoying, but most of these thing

I really wonder what the future of browsers looks like. Personally, I prefer my apps to be fairly simple, but it feels like every browser is constantly adding new features to try and stand out somehow. All really I want is a way to browse t

That comparison is between early 2019 and summer 2022. The page mentions usage drops in the summer, and comparing July 2019 to July 2022 is quite close. However, the charts show United States usage has dropped much more significantly.

It seems there is: https://gs.statcounter.com/platform-market-share#monthly-202... This definitely seems like a decent explanation in my opinion. Sure Firefox is available on mobile, but on iPhone there's not much poin

Anecdotally, this also seems like a good strategy for dating. Being up-front and clear about your intentions rather than beating around the bush, frequent shameless flirting, and complete honesty about who you are make for a good recipe. If

Its really incredible the ways in which living in a walkable neighbourhood can improve your life. More activity from walking around, less pollution, better views etc. One thing I’ve noticed is I tend to see small businesses in walkable area

I don't think anyone is advocating for only apartments and condos. If you have a family, can afford a car, and are willing to make compromises to be in a single-family home, that should absolutely be an option. Adding multi-family ho

There are lots of comments here talking about how living in a single-family home is nicer than a condo, and while I generally agree, it doesn't mean we shouldn't build apartments and condos. A variety of options is good and people

One thing I wish was brought up more is the missing middle [1]. Having denser neighbourhoods is good for a ton of reasons, and having more available housing units would be super helpful for this. Of course, zoning laws restrict this heavily

I feel this is a common trend for any social media. I feel similarly as you regarding how Reddit has changed, and while some of that was due to changes to the website, I'd attribute most of it to an increase in overall popularity. Redd

This is great for finding rabbit holes to fall into. The Kallikak family https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kallikak_Family is one of the first. I do wonder what articles some of these were meant for, and why Wikipedia

Neat article, might try this soon. I’d say my greatest takeaway though was just learning about LCH colour definitions, can’t believe I hadn’t heard of then before. Really hope that its broadly supported soon (also interesting Safari was an
