Median pay in the MLB is just over $1m. [0] Median pay for a Netflix senior software engineer is $500k. [1] Doesn't really seem that different to me. [0] https://en.as.com/en/2021/10/08/mlb/1633

The thing is, interpreted languages have a natural advantage vs. more performant, compiled ones when it comes to iteration speed (and also often ease of early deployment). I think the reason we see this is that while it would be great to pi

Top two should be available through an ETL of whatever VCS is used. Next two depend on how fine-grained you want to be--either you don't automate because you stay high-level on the order of products, or you go lower-level and use featu

Do people argue about productivity and performance when comparing Ruby and Python? I haven't seen that myself. Maybe for toy examples. For 10s of developers-scale applications, I sometimes see comparisons of tooling/libraries, e

I think it comes down to, what is your time horizon? This difference may persist in the short-term, but as companies that hire remotely become more successful and profitable, we'd expect to see those that are in-office-only based in a

This looks great! I too have long been frustrated by the laborious process of making high-quality notes. I've approached the problem a bit differently, choosing to integrate with APIs and auto-generate notes from that structured inform
