Looks like no other comment dwells on the fact that FSF was based in Boston. I heard that Boston was a small hub for tech companies back in the 90s (which is is much less true these days), which might explain this.

Nobody needs the current round of tariffs regardless of that. This is a completely made-up situation.

So how do you get intellisense and debug C++ in Zed?

The intellisense from clangd is much better and faster than the Microsoft C++ extension, if you can set up a compile_commands.json. Although debugging still relies on the Microsoft extension. Although I don't think it's going to b

Knowing C/C++, I more or less guessed what's happening (uninitialized variable) early in the blog post. It blows my mind that the languages allow you to leave variables uninitialized which has caused countless bugs (including prod

For renaming things: I have much more confidence in "traditional" IDE intellisense than LLMs, since they know exactly which ones to change, and never hallucinate and change irrelevant ones (worst cases are variables that have the

Can you quote tps? More and more I start to realize that cost saving is a small problem for local LLMs. If it is too slow, it becomes unusable, so much that you might as well use public LLM endpoints. Unless you really care about getting th
