Hi all, mechanical & aerospace engineer here. Like the author alluded to, I DON'T think software is easy and hardware is 'medium' difficulty. Just my .02, hardware is expensive in terms of design, develop, test & iter

FWIW, from my understanding, I don't think the X-51A is being developed to improve access to space but rather as a proof of concept for an advanced hypersonic transport within the atmosphere.
