I found your argument cogent though without sources to back it up, hard to believe. I do not know why you are being downvoted though. Would it be possible to include sources around what you are claiming?

Well this just sucks. As a frequent SF visitor, Uber/Lyft used to be my primary way of moving around. I don't drive. I also don't see who benefits from this. You had a well functioning service for the users that will be disru

I'd like to add one more * and also assume that a corporation named something without figuring out what the name meant!

Stop romanticising the past. :) You are certainly having more characters vertically on screen on current environments plus having more horizontally.

It is possible to have a decent caring relationship on top of a commercial one. I have restaurant owners who I have a really warm relationship with. I know about their family, they enquire about mine. They will not give me a free meal and n

I know your comment is for the majority but I have had meaningful connections with my hosts. Some I am still in touch years later. If the host reached out to me on their own, I would probably help them. But to have Airbnb guilt trip people

I am living in India right now and have never heard about this. It is interesting that you would gather that the majority of us are on some dose of Chloroquinine. Nobody I know, is.

A counterpoint to the article. As a founder in India we have recently started thinking about hiring people from EU, especially the eastern part. If however the criteria and salary for a good programmer is EUR 42k pa as a comment below sugge

I think my assertion is much more likely than yours that people were in higher paying jobs and moved to Uber/Ola, a lower paying job, so you should give a source for that. Nevertheless the source is my twice daily ride with Uber and ta

I live in India so I don’t understand what you mean by “Its India”. No nationalized bank( majority of auto loans) will use a coercive process. Hell no private bank will use one. RBI has clamped on that practice as illegal in 2010. Worse cas

I see lots of people assuming that the drivers are in a debt trap. Its auto debt. They can just default and go home. The bank will take their car. I have talked to multiple Uber/Ola drivers. Sure the economics aren't as good now.

It's auto debt. The car will be taken by the bank. What else can the bank do? The truth is that cab drivers are making a livelihood, in fact a much better livelihood than they were making without Uber and Ola.

Yes we should freeze everyone's growth and maintain the status quo. Clearly only the Western nations deserve a high standard of living. The others need to make sacrifices for the greater good.

Do you frequently book hotels or travel? Just wondering because the app that you describe is so woefully short of even reasonable expectations, let alone what we have right now.

We are current WeWork tenants. WeWork can’t even provide us an interface to manage and view who used WeWork credits in our org. We asked for a report and got a pdf after 2 days. Tech my foot. The printer software is an abomination.

Perhaps the poorest have an incentive then to quickly burn fossil fuels to become not poor then. Perhaps that is what is China doing and what India should do. From my seat, the Western World brought us to this brink and isn't doing eno

What could be a cite for this. PC builders worldwide like to build their computers and then benchmark them on geekbench. Naturally the top most benches will be the heavily tuned ones.

Can you cite a source for this? This seems like an urban legend imported from Dubai or the UAE, where it may actually make sense. But I have never seen regulations or the 50 C mark being treated as some barometer of extreme heat in India.

This is completely opposite to my experience of living and growing up in India. Overpopulation is considered the root of almost every evil afflicting India. Poverty. Overpopulation. Corruption. Overpopulation. Poor health. Overpopulation.

It's not just a keyboard preference issue for me. The reliability is shockingly appalling. I buy computers for my startup and it feels painful to buy a MBP seeing that 50% of newer MBPs that we bought had issues with their keyboard. On

I think you are projecting your bias. Also my reading is that Bloomberg etc are actually against the trade war and their coverage has been anti trade war. A broken clock is right twice a day and sometimes the Donald can be right as well.
