I'm not on there either =) I went to school with some of the kids who are, but really, if you're on there and not on facebook you're too full of yourself to matter, imho.

There is pertinent info to this topic in discussions of monetizing forum communities. SearchEngineWatch maybe? I forget the link.

Nice site. Going to pass it on to a few friends in the industry to see if they have any comments I might pass along. SEO theory suggests dropping ads until you have lots of traffic b/c with AdSense you provide random relevant exit points a

Of course. There's a per-screen (per color) setup charge of $x, so it wouldn't work to have a very small number of subscribers. Fortunately variable costs decrease on a per-unit basis (at volume thresholds) and the relative impact of the fi

Wow, someone posted that here? Wild. So that's me/my project - if any startups want to talk about licensing schwag (I would love to include some YC companies), let me know (roddy at startupschwag dot com). If anyone wants to discuss the mod

Interesting implications - would expanding / changing locales to include some CoWorking space and possibly improving the amenities (in light of elevator issues) inspire even more to move into a post-college startup community?

Sounds like we should get a Chicago news.yc meetup going. I'm thinking something more frequent than Tech Cocktail, is there a Chicago OpenCoffee Club yet? I know someone's working on a StartupWeekend here: http://startupweekendchicago.wetp

I lived in Boulder from 2002 to 2005. I spent 2 months in Boulder this summer trying to figure out if it's the place to be. I love it. I love the quality of life. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the perfect weather & proximity to skiing.

It's cliche, it's from a blockbuster movie, but it's sort of apropos. "Why do we fall down? So we can learn to pick ourselves up." (Batman Begins) My first company flopped (R.I.P. 2002). My second soared but didn't diversify and crashed. T
