How many pills were you taking daily? The plastic waste of 4-5 pill bottles a month is quite large. But yes it is wasteful, just like the rest of for-profit healthcare.

No, the GOP was planning to block Hillary's nominees as well. And people did decide... In 2012 when they voted for Obama by like 51%. Lame duck presidents have gotten SCOTUS seats before. Reagan nominated and had a confirmation in his

I mean, he's also sitting on a stolen seat. Not letting Obama nominate anyone was pretty BS. Obviously it wasn't his idea, but he's benefited from it nonetheless.

Perhaps they still wanted the company for some reason? Someone knows. Time will tell most likely.

Why would YouTube willingly run fewer ads? They were hardly profitable as it was, it doesn't make sense for them to "crack down" on channels all of a sudden by continuing to host them, but not running ads on them. Not to ment

I mean, that only happened because advertisers learned that the "independent" creators were all assholes. Like this started after advertisers started pulling out when PewDiePie didn't just apologize and admit he was wrong wit

Except Tether hasn't actually proved they have the cash they claim. So why should we take their word that they're a peg system when they haven't proved it?

Exactly. The spirit of what they were trying to do got killed.

Not too keen on GitHub being acquired. If Microsoft wants to do something good here, they should give GitHub enough money to form a Foundation similar to Mozilla. That would be the best way GitHub could pursue its mission.

GitHub being bought buy Microsoft is like the opposite of what it represents. If Microsoft wants to pay for goodwill they should drop a big chunk of cash on forming a GitHub Foundation similar to Mozilla.

You mentioned problems scaling in the article. Can you elaborate on that? Will you update that later on?

Not sure why you're saying Python was used as an alternative to Ruby when Python is older than Ruby.

If you expect to need the performance of a statically typed, compiled language I don't see why you'd prototype in a dynamically typed, interpreted language.

Not all python programs are compatible with PyPy though. Nor do they get much of a performance boost by switching. Pandas and NumPy for example didn't work on PyPy until less than a year ago. And a good chunk of Python codebases are go

Oddly that's one of the things I like most about python. The containers module has so many very useful things. Plus hash-tables and array-lists shouldn't ever really be the same thing.

Probably not. Unless LendEDU reached out the website personally. And it's unlikely rich investors will face consequences any way.

It's kind of ironic to hear that on Hacker News considering the decline in local investigative reporting is largely due to social media and ad-tech in general.

It's kind of a meme at this point though. Shitting on other people's favorite language is a well honored SWE tradition.
