There is some data privacy requirement in SK where application servers and data have to remain in the country. I worked for a big global bank and we had 4 main instances of our application: Americas, EMEA, Asia and South Korea.

Same in most places. Indigenous populations in Australia killed off all the large mammals except a few, in NZ there were a a number of large bird species which were all killed off soon after Maori arrived.

Just be clear - you mean a Mac is less dumb? I've always used windows and thinking of switching to MacOS or going straight to Linux. Apple hardware these days is pretty fire so not sure just yet.

I think it was normal that you had to show ID that matched the card name, and compare the signatures too. Now the signatures are just a spot to draw something funny.

Actually I had an extra requirement that it be secure. Mint is pretty good at that and has a brand I trust. Not sure about the other networks.

Do the people who love testing run JS or Python or something that compiles really quick? I've worked on some big projects and just to make a change, compile and run a unit test often takes 5-15 minutes. TDD works great if you have a tr

My first job I had a Sun terminal with a Black and White monitor because it was much cheaper than the color one. Kids these days wouldn't understand.

Agreed - my old car wasn't "smart" and I had phone on a dash mount for GPS. I now have a new car and it works better but the ergonomics are worse.

My mega corp employer has started an office in Mexico staffed with mostly contractors from India. Makes sense to have in the same timezone and much cheaper than our other low cost office in Texas that has mostly h1bs.
