Because morality and law (and/or rules) do not intersect perfectly. If murder were legal, would it not be my fault if I killed someone?

I want to play devils advocate here. You seem to be pretty much in line with most of the people commenting here, who largely assume there are methodological problems with the studies rather than accepting the findings that wealth causes m

It looks like the more interesting part of this article is the accelerated process to move from early research to human trials. We have lots of ways of curing cancer in mice that never panned out in humans, but we have a better chance of fi

It poses a problem for deployment, collaboration, version control, etc. For instance, a new data type (not a problem in WP, but you could substitute meta fields or something) will frequently require some new code as well -- a widget, templa

Because almost all web hosts have php and mysql already installed. They would not necessarily be my first choice for any application, but for a widely disseminated CMS, I still think those are the best choices. I'm open to being shown

My point is that subject matter has little to do with preparing you for your career. Edit: with certain things excepted, of course. I wouldn't want a doctor who didn't have the relevant degrees.

You think programming is unrelated to philosophy? If it was any good, you hopefully spent a lot of time learning how to break arguments into their constituent parts and follow them to their logical conclusions. You learned how to read close

Are there any other CMSs that are actually better than WP but that haven't been adopted? I've seen some that are intriguing, but ultimately most seem to have the same problems, such as stored configuration in the DB.

I've been thinking about what should replace Wordpress in the CMS space (as opposed to blogging). There are a lot of aspects of Wordpress that make it great, and a lot of things that make it absolutely terrible. I think part of its pro

Usually the previous phone version is dropped to $100, not free. So what we would expect without the 5c is: 5s - $200, 5 - $100, 4s - $0. They've just replaced the 5 with 5c.

And yet, here we are seeing the no-fly list practice come under judicial review. Things went further than they should have, but ultimately the system may eventually work the way it is supposed to.

Agree that testing/deployment is a pain. The solution I've come up with is to use the shopify theme manager app, which syncs local files to the online store, then have to two copies of the repo on my local machine, corresponding t

I don't think they're saying all senior revs are like that, just that an eager junior is better than a jaded senior. Obviously an eager senior is best of all. See the above discussion about how hard it is to find those people.
