The purpose of these institutions is to fund research, which is not necessarily profitable. I'm pretty sure Rosenblatt was criticized back then for his non-tangible stupid ideas, and why the hell was his research was funded to begin wi

I’ll try to not be dismissive of the labour, though it’s kind of funny (or actually natural) that the heavy lifting libraries that only a few can actually write are open and free, while the shallow wrappers that everyone can write are paid

I did just that actually to: * build a codegen for Idris2 and a rust RT (a parallel stack "typed" VM) * a full application in Elm, while asking it to borrow from DT to have it "correct-by-construction", use zippers for s

People should just share their conversations with the LLMs online no? This would blogging 5.0. Or web 7.0.

For comparison, the French resistance was called a terrorist organisation by the Germans, as Algerian FLN was called terrorist organisation by the French… etc. History would be kind of funny if it wasn’t tragic. And this whole “terrorist” w

This is a great initiative! Especially now with all the integrated circuits and sensors, we can have a clear picture on the products if we could all share these data. I’m looking to get a heat pump too and was leaning towards the NIBE make

What’s the difference between what you’re trying to achieve and what ATS already did? The syntax?

This is hype. Someone should tell them about MCMC and alike. Or if they want to accelerate MCMC for a particular problem, they can build a classical ASIC and scale it.

Don’t you need something, like code, to write or comment on to begin with? Or do you create contributions on non existant things out of the blue? What about documentations and other assets that can be code too? What about outdated assets? W

PDM is a better tool in general, the documentation is not great though. The big plus is: it supports mono-repos with multiple projects, unlike poetry. The answer to some issues by the poetry team (including monorepo one) was along the line:

One should read (again?) Hannah Arendt and the mechanics of dehumanisation and propaganda in genocides. Beyond the dehumanisation of the victims by the perpetrators, one should not dehumanise the latter in response. There were no monsters.

Formalism and its “derivatives” died a long time ago already. Even Hilbert couldn’t do much about it. That being said, constructive math is still a great idea.

And your prices don’t even take into account the difference in payloads. (Favorable to Falcon) The price/kg is 3-4x higher for Ariane.

After checking the Falcon rockets stats… that's really impressive. They had more successful launches in 7 years than Ariane in its whole history. It seems that this rocket is not yet out and operational but already “obsolete”. I guess

Around zero, not at zero. Recalling the definition of exact differentiability is irrelevant. Instead take the smallest interval that you can represent in fp32 not too far away from zero for example. Take few values in that infinite interval

They don’t use them indeed. I was replying to the general idea about the additions. OTOH Gaussian kernels smoothen almost everything. Maybe it will be stable even with sin(1/x) as an “activation”.

This is trivially not true. Pick eg. x -> sin(1/x) around zero and its derivatives. The small modifications that you’re talking about are on the argument. These can lead to huuge changes in the values. The stability is more likely d
