Thank for the information buro9, my company has started to go global and we now serve clients in Australia, Japan, locations far away from our origin server (+200ms) and I am hoping to see a big improvement there. I'll enable it today

Side question, does anybody have any experience with their RailGun feature, is it worth it? We recently switched to CF and mostly use them as a CDN and we're quite happy, good value for the money.

Unrelated to the story at hand. Have you been recently DDoSed on OVH? I know that (at least some time ago) they just null-route/deactivate your account on spot with no notification on anything that looks like a DDoS.

GMail is not displaying the images from remote hosts by default. They've recently started to proxy the images on their servers, thus they can check them before showing them to you. And also this did the opposite of what you're say

It's "way to small" in the sense that the pilot cannot fit in it properly. As it has been stated this looks pretty far from a working prototype, it's merely a model.

I am in your exact same situation. What I am thinking to do is get a Macbook Air and spin up Amazon EC2 instances if I need more power. This way I only pay for what I use + I have a wide range of server instances I can use, from micro to xl

First to teach programming, sure, I remember learning Pascal when I was in the first grade, that was about 15 years ago.

Cool, but nothing new, people do what they can do best and if making a new rainbow fart app is what they can do best, that's it. Also seeing such an article coming from some one who co-founded an "another/similar/clone of X" is a bit of a d

Interesting, I kinda liked it. But given I am a keyboard freak, the sound of an apple keyboard makes sad. Add a mechanical keyboard in there too, there's the real programming sound :). Anyhow, great job!

Romania is OK so far, plus it has cheap internet with great speed. There was a discussion to add some sort of (low) monitoring but haven't heard anything about this for some time, but so far no blocks or other internet limitations.

Most mid-high level gamers use SSDs already, myself included, yes you cannot store TBs of games but why do that when you have Steam.

I don't know why this hit the front page, shouldn't that be a logical thing to assume when it comes to HTML5 games? That HTML5 games are not secure and in order to get what you want you just need to have some Google Dev tools skills.

The use of pixel art is very common, and well, as far as I know they wanted a Zelda like game, just because are similar dosen't mean is a copy. They weren't trying to make an original game just demonstrate a point.

Well, you can use C++ as the core although there's still need for Objective-C for the UI and event handling part.

No, the resignation came after months of pressure from the population and even the president. But I assume (I hope) ACTA has a part too :)

Romania (its administration) has proved many times that it cannot think by itself, it just fallows others, with the mentality if others say so who are we to say otherwise. PS: I am romanian.

I've been very inspired by Alex's first post and although I've been planing to do something like this in the feature I was a bit scared about it, well, who wouldn't? :) But now that's gone and I am already "drawing" a plan. Thanks Alex!
