I believe that. We're well-calibrated to handle some amount, and some people really need that beer or two to bring them down to earth. Definitely contributes to overall happiness.

It's pretty much a question of if the psychological benefit counters the physical harm, then. Works for me, bottoms up!

I paid for a month out of curiosity, and it was actually great. Really enjoyed it on long trips. Obviously I used it as intended. Autopilot works stupid good the rest of the time, though. Great feature.

This is obviously about technical contexts, but I could have been clearer about that. I would personally call most WEB3/Blockchain enthusiasts "Non-technical", because they have no idea what they're promoting.

Good article, but fundamentally flawed. "Technical" versus "non-technical" is simply a soft assessment of intelligence, and we treat people accordingly. If I say the PM is non-technical, I'm saying she can't gr

There was nothing wrong with the comp package itself, but forcing a re-vote with disclosure of any false information would be the most appropriate strategy. It's still unfair, because it was a gamble then and a sure thing now, but I su

Playing Captain Nemo is honestly a pretty decent strategy. I think I'd personally go for the volcano base, but the Nautilus method is pretty epic too. Either that or fund any FTL research I could get my hands on. I want to break that

But at the same time, the hardware is not where it needs to be for ubiquity. We need ~60PPD, great FOV, and lighter hardware to really break the barrier. Vision Pro is at the limits, but still not quite there, and we all know the 90/

Yeah, SolarCity was a... stinky acquisition that was mentioned in this case. Some of the relevant false statements related to it. Full disclosure, I agreed with Elon's current opinions before he had them, and I'm an avid legal ner

It's a perfectly decent representation, if you're used to reading judgements (rulings are in motion practice, the outcome is a judgement) and understand how to read between the lines.

The shareholders purchased Tesla stock at $18, and voted on Elon getting a ton of money if he made them a ton of money . That's the representation that matters here, and it turned out extremely accurate.

Exactly. This would have been a ~$10m judgement for the solarcity hijinks in a sane court.

But it doesn't materially matter if SolarCity was a bad investment, or board members went on vacations together. The shareholders got their money's worth, and then some. The damages should be punitive for any misrepresentations, w

The decision hinges on factors that aren't usually a big deal or thought much about. 1. The judge's opinion that the compensation package is "unfair", and 2. Elon's brother being on the board, which some shareholder
