Rather tangential to the point of individual artistic freedom , but still rather related to artistic deviation in general (didn't think this worthy of a top-level comment - so it's got little to do with you, sorry): I don't

Tangential to the actual post's content, but I'm a bit miffed at the "Microsoft is the victim of bad messaging" trope: what distinguishes "bad messaging" from the argument not made (deliberately or not) is, app

A side matter, but handing the BBC's governance over to Ofcom? They haven't held the Independent Television programme contractors to their remits since 2001 under the threat of any sanction - or, for that matter, put their contrac

Macros aren't solely used to implement high-level features, mind you - in CL they're introduced without much hassle to work out gruntwork as well precisely because an elided form in s-expressions seems just as natural as the original forms.

I suspect it's true in general - it's the one thing that still draws me to /. No point of view doesn't get an impassioned defense thrown at it no matter the individual merit.

Christ I've just tried out helm and it's simultaneously blowing me away and surprising me by exposing emacs builtins I'd never known about. It's far easier to recall objects to act on than named functions.

I feel a bit filthy now after realizing my knowledge of named functions to M-x far outnumber the keybindings I've got down pat by a 10:1 ratio. And yet I don't feel particularly encumbered. Call it a case of the customer only being able to

Since the OP wasn't originally raised to be specifically responded to, I'll post my thoughts here as well - - there are plenty of ways to distribute "less taxes", and if "mafiaesque government" remains constant, then that implies that taxes

You're in luck - your guesses are just a bit too pessimistic! It's the method prescribed by my school's curriculum - they take the thing whole from a standards body. You're entirely right, though, to figure that isn't the baseline - there a
