Wouldn't it be awesome if it turned out to be a great indicator of movies they'd like though? That sounds like a fascinating experiment.

That's awesome! What is your algorithm like for determining the similarity? There are some good answers, but The Wolf of Wall Street is apparently pretty close to Frozen . ;)

Very cool. Thanks for posting this. The n-degrees-to-bacon problem is actual what made me think of this in the first place. It would be great to be able to plug in two actors and have it spit out an answer with the shortest path.

I've been thinking about something like this for a while. My idea was to use data from IMDB to create a graph where the distance between movies is some ranking of similarity based on the people involved in the movie, the genre, the set

I started reading a little about stoicism after seeing it on Mr. Money Mustache a year or so ago. That might be what you're thinking of. Like a lot of other people, the philosophy was something I had been practicing in a raw form for a

Heading out to Mountain View for an on-site interview with Matasano next week. So far the process has been great for me too. It has been challenging but they (tptacek and co.) still manage to do a great job of moving things along quickly. H

My ultimate goal is to work on a project like this. For now though, I have a hard enough time coming up with bad ideas. I can't imagine how I'll end up in a position where I know how to fix real problems.

I'm so excited about this! I'm currently drafting the last few chapters for Explore Flask (web development book funded via Kickstarter) and the whole self-publishing process is a mess when it comes to formatting. It looks like the

Nah, I don't see a problem with name collisions in small or relatively unrelated projects like this.

Funny enough, another commenter mentioned a similar project in Go called "TextQL." https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7290739 https://github.com/dinedal/textql

From what I see that requires JS as well. It just gives you a file to update it instead of having you do it. I don't know a lot about the latest CSS features, but I don't think it's possible to have this with CSS alone.

I spent way too long trying to figure out how the hell this CSS only bar knew the current page progress. Missed step 3 on this page: add a data attribute data-progrecss defining the percent complete.

I have been using put.io for years and I love them! Downloads from their server to me are fast and the torrents themselves are often instant.

I always seem to fail these kind of identity verification systems. It has made it a pain to get a bank account online and to get a credit report.

It's arguably better to feel empty about a poorly paid occupation than to feel empty about being unemployed. It can go on for a while, but it doesn't mean people shouldn't address their problems.

That assumes your end-goal is to get an app funded. It's my understanding that funding is really just the start of the journey to having something that is successful and will make you rich (if that's your goal).

The plan right now is to use PDF for the pre-release versions and start building for other formats on 1.0. I've considered doing an HTML version, but I haven't put a ton of thought into it.

I wonder if "Flask for recovering Djangonauts" would make for a good blog post / tutorial. It might even be enough material for a video course. Best practices, advice, and good libraries are what I'm shooting for with E

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. If you don't find it useful it would be amazing of you to contribute some feedback, even if it's just letting me know how you felt.
