Is that question meant to be a joke? Ocean waves most definitely have external triggers. The most common one is wind, but changes in atmospheric pressure can cause them, as can a sudden change in the sea floor due to an earthquake or volcan

Most companies that are hiring are doing so because they have a specific problem or set of problems they're trying to solve. You can usually get a decent idea of what these problems are based on the job posting, talking to people who w

In the specific case of CV, a programmer looking to move into that area is probably doing themselves a disservice if they just apply for jobs that are actually looking to hire computer vision specialists. There are so, so many businesses ou

Although you've been downvoted, I think your question is fair, so I'll try to give it a fair answer. In this discussion, when we talk about value , I think it makes sense to look at value in the sense of how valuable a skill is t

Unless something has changed recently, VBA in Excel and other Office applications isn't .NET at all. It's basically just VB6. When you go to edit VBA inside Excel, you get a VB6 IDE. I just tried it in Excel 2016, and it looks the

It depends on what kind of development you're doing. For most web and business programming I've done, at the end of the day I'm mostly just taking data and transforming it into other data. Most of the time, looking at these p

If you use Qt and QML, you can write most (or all) of your application using JavaScript. I was experimenting a few weeks back, and was able to put together a Hacker News reader app using only JavaScript and QML. Granted, it was a fairly sim
