Right, that makes sense. It's not the right fit for every business idea. If you could find yourself a 5-10 beta customers, perhaps launching to them before billing is ready might work? You could even perhaps set a cap on how many SMS m

I've heard of quite a few products that launched without billing in place yet. They gave users a 30 day trial period, so starting on launch day, they had precisely 30 days to get billing sorted out if they hoped to be able to charge an

The downside to this approach is that it can kill the passion for the thing you were passionate about. Also, I've noticed that real world solutions to problems tend to include lots of schleps that are excruciatingly boring, but necessa

There are lots of companies that don't do these kinds of tests. It's been a while since I've done a job search, but several people I know have done them recently. And they've all found that some companies - mainly big te

I'm guessing it was a bug, because now the page you linked to says: The majority of mobile and desktop apps are still built with native languages like Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Swift. NativeScript has its own separate page.

And my biggest surprise is how Javascript turned from one of the most hated programming language ( besides PHP ? ) into being acceptable and loved. I enjoy modern JS myself, but I'd be careful about coming to a conclusion like that b

That's a fair point! I suppose I don't see Intellisense as something that's IDE specific anymore. It's available in plenty of editors that aren't IDEs, and I think that's a very good thing. The line is pretty b

A couple of observations: - Something like Light Table would probably seem like a step up for repl.it users, instead of a step down. - It can take a long time to reach the point where it feels like there's a big payoff from using IDEs

For Microsoft, at least, take a look at work done by Leslie Lamport and Simon Peyton Jones while working for Microsoft Research. Look at the papers they've published, and also what they work on - things like TLA+ for Lamport and Haskel
