Elasticsearch, Lucene under the hood, implements an inverted index which is an extremely fast data structure for text search. ES has clustering as a primary feature too and many search features that can significantly improve relevance that

In a double-blind, phase 3 trial only one group has on-going data access: the independent group conducting the study. No one else, including patients, doctors, and the business, has any knowledge of the results until they are "unsealed

Yeah those logos help with the stability part. Obviously logos alone does not prove stability, but it is one signal.

If your data has an obvious shard key, like customer ID, then I suggest taking a look at Citus. Not exactly multi-master, but a good sharded solution for PG. There is a managed version of Citus on Azure too.

Grass is always greener... It can be a tough decision, but I have been through it enough times that I don't really care what the options package is. I just want one if everyone else gets one, but otherwise I look at salary and benefits

In private companies, you often are unable to sell your shares because it requires board approval. The AMT trap, in oversimplified terms, is being wealthy enough on paper, due to shares, to trigger AMT but unable to sell shares to cover the

90 days for ISOs is US law. They can be converted to NSOs to get a longer exercise term, but there are different tax implications too. Some companies are offering the conversion now.

Have to agree with others that more funding, alone, won't solve the problem. At my mother's school, any extra funding usually paid for more administration to tell her how to do her job wrong.

One exception would be if your product has really good and obvious search keywords that are being searched at a reasonably high volume. Google ads can work really well in this scenario. Even better if no one else is buying ads for those key

I'm an old 3d graphics programmer. One of performance rules is only render what will be displayed in that frame because rendering is expensive. That is why there are various culling algorithms, some are quite complicated. The reward fo

No it should based on the need of the use case, as always. Very few websites, even highly dynamic ones that require React, need to be rendered at 60 fps.

Yes and it can make certain use cases easier. There are pros and cons to both index-time and query-time stemming, synonyms, etc. I usually use index-time stemming and query-time synonyms.

Clubhouse.io Jira recently overhauled their UI to make it more similar to Clubhouse, but it still isn't as good. Jira is still slow and buggy. Clubhouse also has seamless integration with Github which makes it feel like I am using GitH

The PG dev community puts data correctness above all else. It is a good, strong opinion to have for database software but it does slow down feature development. The most requested feature for years was UPSERT but it wasn't implemented

There is a causal relation between more energy and more prosperity, not pollution. Pollution is a byproduct of how we have chosen to produce that energy. There is no fundamental reason it has to stay that way.
