I only have experience with Flow, but it's not decentralized. The developers claim it is, but they hold master keys to remove contracts from the chain.

Are they manufacturing the risc-v cores to be a drop in replacement for their current cores? Seems a little presumptuous to assume that.

I don’t think it’s baby shampoo because my partner and I both smell the shampoo, but she smells something else as well. She’s smelled the same smell since the day the baby was born, before we bathed her or put a diaper on.

I don’t know if this counts as a pheromone, but babies definitely emit _something_. As a recent father, I have had numerous people remark on how wonderful babies smell after smelling my child. I can’t smell anything. People who can smell th

What does a big truck have to do with safety features? To me, it just sounds like you’re happy to pollute the environment just so you’re sure to annihilate your counter party in an accident.

The paper says fisetin reduced the number of senescent cells in a sample. It’s not clear if that means the cells were eliminated or if the were prevented from entering a senescent state. Do you know the answer? The former sounds better than

From reading that paper, the purpose of senescent cells is to prevent tumor growth. I don't know if I'd want to suppress or eliminate that functionality over a long period of time.

I don't think it makes sense to say you "lose" something. Yes, the properties of different spaces _are_ different, but these differences are intentional so that they can be used to study something useful. For instance, comple

Watching how poorly some professional athletes perform during long Covid recovery makes me highly doubt CFS as the root cause. Also, people have reported long-term loss of smell which also isn’t a typical post-illness or CFS thing.

You do need to pay capital gains on gifted asset using the cost basis the gifter acquired the asset at. This is a stable coin though, so if you’re in the US there should be little gain/loss if the stable coin stays stable.

Allowing people to bet on inflation would be complicated. You’d need to take payments, hold their money like a brokerage, and have the ability to payout. The blockchain let’s you implement such a scheme in a few lines of code. Definitely si

Both of my parents are in civil engineering and construction in NYC. As an outside observer, what I see is that the management of projects is not set up in a sustainable way and is just bad. The heads of important departments are political

I don’t think the GP was arguing that “evolution cares”. Rather, I think they were saying that we evolved as part of a system that moved at a certain speed. Changes to that system were reflected as part of the evolutionary feedback mechanis

I think this is not a good take. An NFT is a use case. You might find them asinine, as I do, but that’s still a use case. It’s surprising that people think “programmatic money and token system” doesn’t have a use case. Clearly it does, and

I think the lack of "getting stuff done" is due to the innovator's dilemma on a societal scale. The marginal gain of any additional project is just too small for society, as a whole, to care about.
